Answers to the questions BEW users ask most often — compatibility, installation, licensing, Pro features, the Template Library, WooCommerce, Elementor, and the AI Builder. For anything not covered here, see the dedicated guide for that topic.

Compatibility & Requirements #
#
Yes. BEW is an Elementor addon, not a theme — it adds widgets, modules, and templates that render inside whatever theme your site already uses. Any theme that properly supports Elementor works with BEW.
#
BEW is built to work with any Elementor-compatible theme, but for the best experience, we recommend Bosa Theme or Bosa Pro Theme — built and actively maintained by our team specifically to pair seamlessly with BEW’s widgets, modules, and templates. If you’re just getting started and don’t have a theme yet, Hello Elementor (Elementor’s free default theme) is also a solid, conflict-free starting point.
#
No. Both the free BEW plugin and BEW Pro work with the free version of Elementor — Elementor Pro isn’t required for anything BEW does.
#
No — Elementor is the only required plugin. WooCommerce is only needed for the specific widgets, modules, and generators that work with WooCommerce data (anything labeled “Woo -“); features like Blog, Site Logo, Dropdown Nav, and Contact Form 7 work without it.
Installation, Activation & Licensing #
#
No — the free BEW plugin is entirely free, with no account or key needed. Only BEW Pro requires a license.
#
Once BEW Pro is installed and active (with the free BEW plugin and Elementor also active), look for the “BEW Pro — License Required” notice in your dashboard, click Activate License, and enter the key from your purchase.
#
BEW Pro is licensed through Freemius. Sign in to the Freemius Customer Portal at customers.freemius.com with the email you purchased with — it gives you your license key, invoices, a fresh copy of the plugin ZIP, and your registered sites.
BEW Pro & Upgrading #
#
BEW works on an all-or-nothing tier basis — activating your license unlocks BEW Pro’s widgets, modules, and AI generators together as a full set, not one at a time. Pro widgets show up alongside the free ones in the same BEW Elements panel category, not somewhere separate.
#
Yes — BEW Pro is an add-on to the free plugin, not a replacement for it. Both need to stay installed and active; if the free plugin is ever deactivated, BEW Pro shows a notice asking you to reactivate it.
#
Pro widgets and modules only appear in the editor once BEW Pro is installed, active, and licensed — there’s no trial mode for them directly. You can, however, freely browse and preview Pro-marked designs in the Template Library without a license; only inserting one requires it.
Template Library #
#
No. A Kit is a bundle you browse — opening one shows its individual pages and sections, which you insert one at a time, the same as browsing the Pages or Sections tab directly.
#
No — inserting a template only adds its own content to the page you’re editing. Your site’s Site Settings (colors, fonts, and so on) are never modified by it.
#
A “Required Plugins” prompt appears when you click Insert. You can install and activate the missing plugins with one click and get the full design, or skip that step and import right away with placeholders standing in for the affected widgets.
WooCommerce #
#
Demo sites use their own sample products, images, and a specific combination of theme and widget styling. Your own product photos, image sizes, and theme’s WooCommerce styles will differ unless you match them — check each widget’s Style tab (image size, spacing, colors) and your product images’ dimensions against what the demo uses.
#
No — only the ones displaying WooCommerce data (anything labeled “Woo -“, plus Dropdown Nav when pointed at a shop menu). Blog, Site Logo, and Contact Form 7 work with no WooCommerce dependency at all.
Elementor & Widgets #
#
Confirm BEW and Elementor are both active, and that you’re editing the page with Elementor (not the native WordPress block editor). They live under the BEW Elements category, pinned near the top of the widget panel.
#
A core set is included in the free plugin. BEW works on an all-or-nothing tier basis, so activating BEW Pro unlocks its additional widgets, modules, and AI generators as a full set, on top of everything the free plugin already gives you.
AI Builder #
#
It doesn’t depend on where the content came from — it depends on which widget you’re editing. The AI Text Generator works on BEW’s own widgets, most of Elementor’s native widgets (Heading, Text Editor, Button, Image, Icon Box, and others), and a couple of specific third-party addons. So it works the same whether that widget is on a hand-built page, a BEW template, or one imported from elsewhere — but it isn’t available on every widget from every plugin.
#
For most providers, yes — connect your own API key from the AI provider you choose (OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic, and others), and that provider’s own usage pricing applies. One image provider, Pollinations.ai, is included by default and works without an API key.
Common Issues #
#
Confirm Elementor is also installed and active — BEW’s widgets, modules, and Template Library only appear once it is. If Elementor is missing, BEW shows a notice telling you to activate it.
#
These are site-wide modules, not widgets, so they aren’t in the widget panel. Configure them from Elementor’s own Site Settings (hamburger menu in the editor → Site Settings), under each module’s own “BEW”-prefixed tab.
#
Widgets that depend on another plugin (WooCommerce, YITH Compare/Wishlist, Contact Form 7) show a plain-text notice in their place when that plugin isn’t active, instead of failing silently. Activate the plugin named in the notice to resolve it.
